Responsibilities
- Develop analytics solutions to address business problems using tools from applied statistics and machine learning
- Lead discussions to validate the feasibility of AI/ML solutions in relation to business processes and outcomes
- Design, implement, and monitor data pipelines, while promoting the effective use of data through knowledge-sharing sessions
- Collaborate with product managers to enhance features by integrating advanced predictive models into our products
- Extract and analyze data to derive insights across the business process
- Construct advanced predictive models, continuously improving them with added features supported by appropriate infrastructure
- Facilitate training and access for cross-functional teams to foster their growth over time
- Engage closely with business stakeholders to understand and translate their analytics needs into actionable plans
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, applied mathematics, or a related discipline
- 3+ years experience in data science or a related field
- Proficiency in data mining, mathematics, algorithms, and statistical analysis
- Experience with predictive modeling and pattern recognition
- 2+ years experience with SQL/GraphQL and programming languages like Python, Spark, TensorFlow
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git preferred) and cloud computing (AWS and DataBricks)
- Aptitude for learning and exploring new programming languages to leverage the best available technology
- Open-mindedness to unfamiliar data sources and quantitative domains
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of statistical programming languages like Python and database query languages like SQL, Hive, and Pig. Familiarity with GraphQL is a plus.
- Solid applied statistical skills, including knowledge of statistical tests, distributions, regression, and maximum likelihood estimators
- Good understanding of machine learning methods like k-Nearest Neighbors, Naive Bayes, SVM, and Decision Forests
- Strong mathematical foundation, particularly in multivariable calculus and linear algebra
- Experience with data visualization tools like matplotlib, ggplot, d3.js., and Tableau for visually encoding data.
